Notes in French are divided into two
FORMAL And INFORMAL
FORMAL
For the formal note you refer to the person you are writing the note to, as either VOUS + the verb ending in ez ---- and using the possessive adjective you use VOTRE VOTRE or VOS. CHEZ VOUS. (in your home)
Usually you are writing to the woman of the house – or the man of the house.
Informal
With the Informal you are usually writing to your corres – the person with whom you have an exchange and you are usually staying in that person’s house. Again you are usually staying in this boy’s house, however sometimes you call around to see a friend.
It’s TU plus the verb – Toi chez toi. TON TA TES with the possessive adjective.
Ton ami.
What goes in the top right corner?
DAY, TIME
lundi, 3 heures
dimanche, 4 heures
In the informal you start it with a
Salut + name (usually supplied)
Salut Goulven!
Salut Paul!
Salut Pascal!
IN the formal you usually start it with
M. Armand,
Mme. Armand,
When ending you usually end with
A bientôt,
A plus tard,
A demain,
A cet après-midi,
SIGN OFF.
MARK.

2003 Note
(b)You come in to your French class one morning and you haven’t done your homework. You
decide to impress the teacher by writing a short note in French! In your note tell him / her that
- you have not done your homework and you are sorry
- that you played a basketball match yesterday and it was late when you got home
- you will do the homework this evening
mardi, 2 heures
Monsieur,
Juste un mot pour dire que je n'ai pas fait mes devoirs. Je suis désolé.
Hier, il y avait un match de foot. Moi je suis membre de cette équipe. Je suis revenu chez moi, très tard. Puis, je me suis couché.
Je ferai mes devoirs ce soir. Si vous êtes d'accord.
Merci pour votre compréhension,
MARK.
This note is interesting as it includes an apology. Please notice that I've kept everything as simple as possible. If you don't want to use the passé composé on the reflexive se coucher, you could simply have left out that part of the point.
