Work covered on notes. You need to learn this.
Writing to Martine – 2001.
First convention of the note:
Day, time.
Note = day, time
When writing informally – you simply say ‘Salut + name
You use tu – and ton ta tes all the way through
You then end it, with À bientôt,
And sign off as MARK.
LEAVE OUT MARK AND YOU LOSE A MARK
Lundi, 10 heures
Salut Martine,
FIRST PART OF THE FIRST SENTENCE – LEARN OFF BY HEART Juste un petit mot pour dire que JUST A BRIEF WORD TO SAY THAT……..
Juste un petit mot pour dire que ton frère a téléphoné.
Il téléphone encore (AGAIN) demain vers (at about) 5 heures.
Il travaille demain matin. Donc, Il va se coucher de bonne heure.
HE IS WORKING TOMORROW. THEREFORE, HE IS GOING TO BED EARLY
À bientôt,
MARK.
Some small points.
Write really clearly and carefully.
You have loads of space so please skip lines between points.
Keep the examiner on side.
.
Write to Martine’s mum Mme David, tell her that in her absence her friend Michou telephoned. She will phone again after dinner. She is going to the pool in the morning so she is getting up early.
This note by definition is FORMAL
You don’t use Salut - - - - - SIMPLY PUT Mme David, at the top.
