If you know these verbs and can apply them, then you have huge amounts of French at your disposal.

Devoir TO HAVE TO
Falloir (DEFUNCT – IT MEANS – IT BEHOOVES ME)
Aimer TO LOVE / LIKE
Adorer TO ADORER
Je peux travailler.
Je veux écouter.
Je dois aller au magasin.
Il faut chanter – (It behooves one to sing)
J’aime manger du gâteau.
J’adore faire du cyclisme.
